I baked in the Las Vegas, Nevada heat waiting for a taxi to get from here to there and back, but... I basked in the innovation and the huge Digital Signage area! DS sure has made its mark at Infocomm. Last year's DS presence in Annaheim, California was tiny in comparison.
I was especially impressed by two technologies... super thin screens and advanced touch screen capabilities. Saw some neat front and rear projection screens, we can certainly use for our next project. One makes an uneven wall look even... meaning the images are not distorted. Another makes the video of water moving down a stream come to life!
Make the Digital Signage interactive and they will come! Saw a neat screen where you can answer a poll in real-time, and another where the interactivity turns the screen into an iPhone looking screen, where you can browse through your music selections.
I didn't even get a chance to get to the non-Digital Signage sections, as there was so much to see, the line for food and Starbucks was a mile long, and I landed up with more meetings than I could handle! Will add more observations as time permits.

Souls in the Hands of a Tender God
Souls in the Hands of a Tender God - a great book written by a friend of mine about issues we often forget: mental illness and the homeless. I am reading and enjoying the book... learning more from each story.
